Korean fans excited to see Korean Professional Second Division unveiled

3 Aug

One of the best leagues in Asia, K-League lacked one important thing: second division.

Although existing Korean National League, the semi-professional league, is systemically the second division, clubs from Korean National League were not promoted to professional K-League due to financial reasons.

However, from last year, the K-League has been working on creating a professional second division that could provide a secure up-down system with the K-League. Korean Professional Football Association had received applications to join the league until July 31.

Now, the second division is set to be unveiled. Korean fans are excited to see which clubs have applied to join the second division, with rumours being passed around that Bucheon FC 1995 from Challengers League (3rd Division), Choongju Hummel (National League), Cheonan City (National League), Ansan HFC (National League) and some more have submitted applications.

It is yet unclear which clubs will be included in the second division, but Korean fans are already filled with excitement, hoping the addition of the second division could bring a new atmosphere into Korean football.
