Sasa Ogninovski is leaving Seongnam

Seongnam announced today that today’s game against Gangwon FC will be the last game for two foreigners, Heverton and Sasa Ognenovski.  Sasa Ognenovski is reportedly joining a Qatar side.

 

 

Ognenovski, who joined Seongnam from Adelaide United in 2009, was contracted to Seongnam until the end of this year. He became the first foreigner captain of Seongnam and lifted the 2010 AFC Champions League trophy and the 2011 Korean FA Cup trophy. He was also nominated as the 2010 AFC Player of the Year and was called up to the Australian National side. He led Australia to runners-up place in the 2011 AFC Asian Cup.

Gamba Osaka’s forward Rafinha set to join Ulsan Hyundai

Gamba Osaka announced the loan contract for Rafinha was terminated today. Nacional Atletico Clube, which is Rafinha’s original club, has reportedly agreed with Ulsan Hyundai on Rafinha’s transfer.

The 24-year-old Brazilian had joined Gamba Osaka in the middle of 2011 season after a great spell at Thespa Kusatsu in the J League Division 2.

Jung Jo-Gook set to return to FC Seoul?

Rumors have been spreading that Jung Jo-Gook was released by AJ Auxerre; it this turns out to be true, Jung Jo-Gook is likely to rejoin FC Seoul.

Jung, who has failed to secure a spot at AJ Auxerre, reportedly has been released and is eyeing a return to the K-League. FC Seoul, where he played for 8 years from 2003 to 2010, is believed to be his destination. Anyway, he has to return to Korea in near future in order to fulfill his military duty.

 

Jung scored 4 goals during his 2-year stay in the French Ligue 1.

Guangzhou Evergrande chasing Kim Young-Gwon

Japanese press has reported that Chinese reigning champion Guangzhou Evergrande FC is chasing Omiya Ardija’s young Korean defender Kim Young-Gwon. Guangzhou reportedly had been targeting Al Saad’s Lee Jung-Soo, but as Lee signed a new two-year contract with Al Saad, Guangzhou has changed the target. Japanese press <Sports Nippon> has stated that Kim and Guangzhou have already mutually agreed on terms.

Kim, meanwhile, has been named in South Korea’s 2012 London Olympic Games squad. At the age of 22, he already has seven A-level caps and is a regular in the U23 team.
